Charmaine Warrior was born in Bombay, India, where her childhood years formed her passion for colour. She moved to England with her family, where she studied in London before leaving to travel and work extensively across Spain, North, Central and South America, Indonesia, Turkey, Thailand, Morocco, India and Nepal.
She began working in ceramics in her mid twenties when she moved to Cornwall, and was awarded a St. Ives Penwith Gallery Studio in 1979. There she produced porcelain & lustre glazed pots and jewellery. The works created from 1979 - 1989 were exhibited in galleries and exhibitions throughout Cornwall, as well as London, New York, Germany & Australia. In 1987, she was invited to hold her first solo show by The British Council at The Cesars Gallery in Miraflores, Lima, Peru.
After much travelling she returned to Cornwall and carried on exploring different routes in pottery, stopping to take her degree in ceramics at The Falmouth School of Art & Design in the early 1990's.
In recent years she has been traveling and exploring extensively. From Asia, to Africa, supporting other makers of crafts and now owns a well extablished shop called Restless Native in Penzance, Cornwall. She still continues to make her ceramics, preferring to create ideas purely for her own pleasure & occasionaly exhibiting them for sale @seawarriorceramics.com
